Grande in 2018

Throughout her career, Ariana Grande has worn various outfits, some of which truly marked pop culture. She also explored fashion over her career and before, here is the list of Grande's style evolution over the years.

Early Years[]

When she was a kid and a teenager, Grande grew up in Florida and dressed in a rather classic way, she did follow the trends at the time. In fact, she appears in many pictures wearing the famous low-rise jeans and a loose t-shirt, typical of the early 2000s fashion. Grande usually wore simple outfits and off-the-rack dresses in the few photoshoots and events she attended.

2010-2012[]

As she entered the entertainment industry, Grande carried on her simplistic style but elevated it gradually. Turning 17 years old in 2010, she also dressed as her fashion taste started to evolve and be more specific. At the time, Grande was present at more public events and premieres. This allowed her to showcase many outfits that were more sophisticated.

Late 2013[]

In 2013, Grande released her debut album Yours Truly which allowed her to "rebrand" and adopt a more mature and evolved public image after moving on from the role of Cat Valentine. She wanted to take a new start by dying her hair brown, as well as a complete shift in her fashion. For her new style, Grande wore a lot of mini skirts paired with a top, floral dresses inspired by the 50s and neutral colors such as light pink, black, white and beige.

After her fashion revamp in late 2013, Grande kept this aesthetic for the visual identity of her sophomore album My Everything. She made this style a bit more mature and sophisticated while keeping it fun and cute at the same time. She also added a sexy element to her style, adding more lace and leather into her outfits, especially in the "Love Me Harder" music video. In her everyday style, she however kept her outfits very simple and comfortable.

With the release of Dangerous Woman, Grande went with a much more modern aesthetic in her looks. She wore more relaxed outfits, with sportswear elements. She also made black lace her signature look as it is the center of the album's aesthetic. She went for a more mature direction because her music is the symbol of Grande wanting to be recognized as a woman, expressing her sexiness, showing her body more, and her personality through her style.
